Summary
Stitch Tracker is a web application designed for crafters to manage their cross-stitch supplies and shopping lists efficiently. It allows users to track their inventory and access their lists from anywhere.
Why I Built This
I built Stitch Tracker as an end-of-course project for my partner. She was doing a lot of cross-stitching at the time and wanted an easy way to keep track of all the different coloured floss she had at home, so she could tell what colours she still needed to grab at the craft store.
Before this, she was using a small paper list with the colours she needed to purchase. I saw this as an opportunity to build a simple, mobile-friendly tool that could help her track her inventory digitally.
Seeing my partner actually use the app to organize her supplies and avoid duplicate purchases made the project feel even more rewarding.
This project made me think about how technology can enhance hobbies in small but meaningful ways. Stitch Tracker isn’t just a coding exercise. It’s a tool built for real-world use, and that’s what made it an exciting challenge.
